Recently I did a reading for someone who had all this old pain coming up to be healed. She sighed and said how we should be happy during the holidays. But as many of us know, that’s just not how it always goes...
For many there is just a melancholy, something from a source they can’t name. For others there is a terrible loneliness. Then there are those in such pain, either physical or emotional or both. No, it isn't always jolly during the Christmas holidays, and certainly not for everyone.
The words from a Christmas carol ‘tis the season to be jolly’ sings in my head and I wonder why there is only one season for joy? Why is peace on earth something so many focus on more at Christmas time? Are these not already core attributes of who we are as Children of God? How do we connect with our divine nature daily?
As I write this some of my own family drama whirls around and as much as I tried to stay out of it, I found myself still hurt by it. But then something truly beautiful just happened. I began to listen and learn of their pain and hurt. I listened with compassion and non-judgment. I responded in authentic caring while not engaging in the drama. The more I did this, the more peaceful I became. Gradually I saw some of their pain lifting. We said goodnight feeling more at peace and with love in our hearts.
So now I turn to the Ancients for any wisdom and guidance they can offer you or someone you know who may need this now, someone who is in pain or not feeling so jolly. I can feel the softness of their love all around me. I can feel a tenderness envelope my heart and the soothing gentleness of their touch. And it is in this place that I will now offer to you their message...
‘From the silence, from the stillness, from the deepest depths of your precious Soul we say to you this: You are loved beyond measure and never, ever alone. In your deepest darkest despair, we hold you close to us and enfold you with our love and light. It only takes a moment to leave the chatter of your mind and the thoughts that terrorise you, to the secret chambers of your heart where you lay safely in our arms. Come onto us those who are heavy laden and we will give you rest for you are the Beloved Child of God, whom we recognize as Family. Come, and we will give you peace. Then we will give you joy. Choose these and they will be given to you.’
From A Course in Miracles:
‘There is a silence in you into which the world cannot intrude. There is an ancient peace you carry in your heart and have not lost. There is a holiness in you the thought of sin has never touched.’
I wish you all a Mele Kalikimaka a me Hau’oli Makahiki Hou! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Mahalo nui loa for your loving support of my work this year. On behalf of my Ancestors, Aloha ‘au ia oe ... I love you.
